American Breast Care is a manufacturer and wholesaler of post-mastectomy bras breast forms, and accessories. Since 2003, ABC has assisted women in leading a fuller life after breast surgery.

Our History

As a young man living in Germany, Joachim “Jolly” Rechenberg worked with his brother Cornelius at a summer job filling small sacks with rice, beads and other materials and sealing them with tapestry glue. These sacks were intended for post-mastectomy women to use as prosthetic breasts. Cornelius, a budding engineer, set out to create an external breast prosthesis made from soft silicone. In 1975, he patented the silicone breast form and later created a manufacturing facility to develop these products in the United States, with his brother. After working in the U.S. for nearly twenty years, the Rechenbergs sold their company.

In 2003, Jolly Rechenberg collaborated with new partners to start American Breast Care, LP. American Breast Care entered the market with a staff of passionate professionals committed to delivering the highest quality post-mastectomy products to end users. Based out of Georgia, the company manufactures all of its breast prostheses in the USA.
