Course Description: This course provides an overview of bloodborne pathogens, infection control and universal precautions based on OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogens Standard and CDC recommendations. At the completion of this course, you will:
  1. Be able to define and identify bloodborne pathogens (BBPs)
  2. Be able to list modes of transmission of BBPs
  3. Be familiar with exposure risk
  4. Be able to explain universal precautions
  5. Be familiar with the OHSA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard
  6. Be able to describe engineering controls and work place controls
  7. Be able to identify personal protective equipment
  8. Have a basic understanding of the hepatitis B vaccine guidelines
  9. Know how to respond in case of exposure
